How ESP Became What You See Today
Too many of us walk around with invisible wounds, carrying pain we never asked for, like a heavy coat in the heat of a Florida summer — all while trying to survive and keep a smile on for the world.
I grew up like most lower-middle class people. While my life wasn’t always the hardest, I've had to carry a lot of deep wounds from experiences no one should have to face. From watching a parent held at gunpoint during a robbery, being lied to for years about my heritage, battling medical issues, losing our home to foreclosure, being abandoned by a parent who ghosted me for years, and surviving sexual assault, to being shot at by someone I once had so much love for. No matter what I did, I was constantly met with resistance, unable to express
myself because I was always told that I needed to stay in a child's place, and ultimately left to navigate life without guidance or understanding. The stories could go on and on, but I'll save that for the book.
At the time, I didn’t realize just how deeply it all would shape me or how long I’d carry all of the weight. I could have easily allowed my environment to ruin me, but I was determined to get out and be the change for my family.
In 2022, after relocating from Georgia to Sacramento for a promising job, I found myself at rock bottom. With just $800 to my name after the move, an emergency vet visit for my dog cost nearly all of it. I was left with an empty bank account and a full gas tank.
I sat alone on my air mattress, eyes bloodshot red, spirit drained, staring in the mirror at someone I didn’t even recognize.
Feeling the void that had been growing for years finally collapse in on me, I remember thinking that all I wanted was to feel loved, to belong to something more than myself. But I couldn't think of a single soul I could call for comfort.
At that moment, the life behind ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) was born. It had lived as just a name for years. But in that silence, it found breath... It found meaning... I stopped blaming the world around me and started asking a harder question, "what was I not doing to change my own situation?"
As I began climbing out of the black hole I was lost in, I started fasting, reading, and studying the power of mindset. For the first time, I saw myself clearly, flaws and all.
I found my voice, my vision sharpened, and my strength surfaced. I learned to shift my perception and use my mind as my greatest ally instead of my enemy. I started to trust myself and began embodying the concepts of “As above, so below” & “You reap what you sow”. Only then did I truly understand why an old coworker use to called me “Little Giant.”
That personal awakening didn’t just change me, it became the foundation for something bigger.
ESP is here to help us wear our hearts on our sleeves. To give people something real to stand in. A symbol of cultural appreciation, presence, and higher purpose. A quiet reminder that you’re not alone and you never were.
But most importantly, to shift how the world sees people of color, especially Haitians, as we reflect the inner power we’ve always had.
Each piece is designed to spark emotion, ignite conversation, and create connection. Through culture, spirituality, and unapologetic self-expression, we’re building safe spaces first through what we wear, then through what we build together.
Our owl logo says it all: wise, connected, and confident, just like us.
As we grow, proceeds from purchases will go towards supporting real impact for underrepresented communities: community care projects, wellness initiatives, and job opportunities. We’re not just representing strength, we’re helping people live it, breathe it, and build a better future with it.
ESP is more than just a clothing brand. It’s about the culture we create when we show up for each other. It’s a movement for those who’ve been torn down but refuse to stay down because we know we’re only low long enough to ground ourselves, reconnect with our roots, reclaim our power, and rise above the noise.
So why ESP?
Because whether you’re dressing for success or self-discovery, our pieces speak to the essence of who you are without saying a word. Because confidence isn’t just how you look, it’s how you lead, how you live, and how you love yourself out loud.
Let’s rise, rebuild, and remind the world of what we’re made of—together.
